The fish definitely showed up for Riptide Rendezvous at Rincon Beach Park, as fly and conventional tackle fisherman were grouped together for a tournament in earlier in May. Riptide Rendezvous, a combined tournament for both conventional and fly anglers, was put on by the Southwest Council of Fly Fishers International with help from CCA California.

Shaun Vague, son of CCA Santa Barbara Chapter President Tiffany Vague, was a big winner at Riptide Rendezvous as conventional anglers battled with fly anglers at Rincon Beach Park. Vague brought in a 16.75″ Corbina from the beach, while Tiffany Vague was responsible for the very first fish caught. Rounding out the conventional side was Wayne Tanouye, who compiled the most points and caught the most fish.

Both fly and conventional anglers brought in 92 fish in 2 hours of fishing.

Check out the rest of the results from the tournament below!
