Public Meetings, Webinar Set on Artificial Reefs in California

By April 17, 2017No Comments

artificial reefThe California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) will host public meetings to provide information on CDFW’s role in the placement and management of artificial reefs in California, including laws and regulations; historical background; what the public should expect, and what CDFW needs to move forward with the potential placement of new artificial reefs in state waters. This meeting will be focused on the need for a baseline assessment of existing artificial reefs in California to inform a statewide scientifically based artificial reef plan. Additionally, the meetings will provide an opportunity for CDFW to gain a better understanding of interested stakeholders’ concerns and comments related to artificial reefs. For further information, please contact CDFW Environmental Program Manager Becky Ota at (650) 631-6789 • Becky.Ota@wildlife.ca.gov.

A conference line and webinar option has been set up to participate remotely for the Los Alamitos meeting on April 25, 2017. Only the Los Alamitos meeting will have a webinar and phone line open to anyone that cannot be there in person.  Due to limited space at the Los Alamitos meeting site, we encourage the use of the webinar option.
