California’s Assembly Bill 3030 has been scheduled to be heard by the California State Senate’s Natural Resource and Water Committee on August 5th, beginning at 9am. Also being heard is Assembly Bill 1949, which would change the statutory language of the Ocean Resource Enhancement and Hatchery Program (OREHP).
CCA California has been leading the effort of opposition to AB3030 with multiple coalitions that consist of many different organizations and companies both in the fishing industry and outside. AB3030 is designed to “protect” 30% of all land, water and ocean in California by 2030. This is part of a global movement to protect up to 50% eventually.
We are currently asking all CCA members and members of the fishing community to continue to write their senators, sign our online petition, join CCA and donate to CCA California in our efforts to fight for our right to fish in the Golden state.
Please visit our AB3030 info page for more information.
